Garage-punk band SPRINTS hail from Ireland's capital city. Spearheaded by guitarist and lead singer Karla Chubb, the Dublin quartet have well and truly screamed onto the blossoming Irish guitar scene following two earlier EPs. Their debut long-player, Letter to Self, was recorded in less than two weeks with Daniel Fox (from Gilla Band) at Black Box Studios in France's Loire Valley.

Why walk when you can sprint into 2024? After amassing a considerable live following during their inception in 2019, the Dublin punk four-piece have finally released their first full length album through German label City Slang. It was about time that Sprints finally tried to encapsulate their incendiary live performances on record, but does this Letter To Self manages to trap their furies into media for home consuming, air guitar secret shows in the kitchen, and recording your drunk uncle dancing tie in head during Christmas dinner for future embarrassment, or even potential blackmailing? Well, yes and almost yes. A good part of the record was released drop by drop through last year, so their fans could get both satisfied and even thirstier for what was coming.

Dublin four-piece Sprints signed to City Slang in 2023, and blast into the New Year with debut album 'Letter To Self'. Opening with the brooding beats of 'Ticking', the vocals of Karla Chubb begin low, full of foreboding. Questioning and self-doubt are apparent from the very beginning, an uncertainty about oneself. The instrumentation builds into an all-encompassing soundscape - a thrilling start which sets the scene for what is to follow.
