Album Review: Lahai by Sampha

Exceptionally Good, Based on 4 Critics

HipHopDX - 90
Based on rating 4.5/5

Time is one of humankind's most common enemies. In addition to being indiscriminate, it will cut the best moments painfully short and make the worst moments drag out for what seems like eternity. Under The Radar - 80
Based on rating 8/10

It's been over six years since Sampha dropped Process, the Mercury Prize-winning breakout that placed the London-based singer/songwriter at the center of the British indie music scene. Opinion: Fantastic

Venerated as the apotheosis of modern soul music, Sampha's debut album 'Process' mined the emotional voids in his life at that time, namely the agonising loss of his mother. Like its predecessor, ‘LAHAI’ is a totemic album documenting a now thirty-something Sampha attempt the work of reconstruction.
